what I got out of my paper
I gained a lot from writing this paper. I learned to scrutinize a source and determine whether it is a primary source or a secondary source. I learned the process of writing an argumentative research paper: researching the topic, finding arguments, creating a thesis, proofreading, and revising. I also learned way more about my topic from researching it and sorting through all the sources.

Christmas fever
:) can't wait for Christmas this year. Holiday album anyone??? I think so. With ZP back in business all seems well. With everyone good to go then the album seems like a good idea along with a concert? Uh huh!
Boys II Men cover?
Should :) cover this soulful smash hit? If you haven't heard it check it out. Recently, the guys have been listening to a lot of soul and blues and are thinking about sampling something in one of these genres. Alex and Joe have been messing around with this song and might do it. So, just wondering what people think and if we should do it.

Member gets his life back
After a painful recovery, Zach Prouty is back in business. He had a torn labrum, and through his hard work and determination, is ready to rock. :) is looking at a Christmas gig or a New Years Eve party now that their lead guitarist is ready to go. Hopefully all goes well and this can spark the comeback tour.

:) ready to go after much needed rest
:) has just come off a much needed hiatus. All the members agree that they were feeling the pressure from the fans and from themselves as well. It takes a lot to be the hottest new air band. Constantly signing autographs, kissing babies, ribbon cutting, ground breaking ceremonies, and always being followed around by gorgeous women. The relentless attention and celebrity status takes a toll on you. Because of this, :) took some time off. After the much needed break, :) is ready to start touring again. (Possible Thanksgiving pilgrim/Indian reenactment concert?) And have started working in the studio and are currently in the writing of a couple new songs. Great things are sure to follow in the coming weeks!

New look for :)
Mohawks! The band is trying out a new look.
The mohawks came about because the football made it to playoffs. All of the players got them and now it doubles as an edgey look for the band members. So far there has been a fairly good response to the style change and now the band members are getting to know what being in a band is all about.
In other news, :) is planning on a Thanksgiving concert. The venue and setlist are still being decided but if anyone has any suggestions let me know!
Things have been fairly calm for the band but if anyone needs a band for a gig please contact us.

:) tries out a new venue
This last week :) did there first mobile concert! Two members were missing, Alex and Marcus, but Zach and Joe were there with guest appearances from Cyrus "the Virus" Schoonmaker and Mr. Lange the English teacher! The venue was Cy's dark gold 1997 GM oldsmobile van. The jam session didn't actually go mobile but had the possibility to which makes all the difference! The setlist was Sweet Carolin by Neil Diamond and Wonderwall by Oasis. Cyrus "the Virus" took lead vocals and sampled a little keyboard on Sweet Caroline and killed it on the drums and back up vocals on Wonderwall. Zach Prouty somehow managed to pull off lead guitar on Sweet Caroline with a torn labrum that he just had surgery on a WEEK ago! Simply amazing. Unfortunately, Zach had to part ways with his fellow band mates because his dad, Scott "The Beast" Prouty, had come to pick him up. (Zach is not allowed to drive for the time being because of his devastating injury. Once his arm is out of its sling he will be able to drive wherever he wants to.) Joe Trent dabbled on the bass for the first song and took lead guitar and vocals on the final song because of Zach's absence. On the final song of their setlist :) got the help from Mr. Lange the English teacher and drama director. He took lead/back up vocals on Wonderwall. It was a truly amazing experience. This may seem like no big deal that :) is playing a set in Cy's van but it is a big deal. If they can unconform from the music industry and start their own genre of music, air, and conform to the confines of a dark gold 1997 GM oldsmobile van then I think this band can do just about anything.
